Our Creative Coordinator, Bridget Minamore, has facilitated poetry workshops for people all over the UK and she’s about to run our second workshop for survivors of sexual violence.
Our workshops help women use creativity as a way to write down their stories, thoughts and feelings, as well as reclaim their physicality through their own words.
When and where
The next My Body Back poetry workshop will be held at 1pm on Saturday 26th March in an accessible venue in Covent Garden. In a relaxed setting that will strive to be an inclusive, safe space, a small group of women will be encouraged to write and share as much or as little as they want. All writing and literacy abilities are welcome, and all materials will be provided, although feel free to bring your own notebooks.
Spaces for the workshop are limited – on a first-come-first-served basis – and will only be open to women who have experienced sexual violence. In the interests of diversity, we may hold some of the places for women of colour, lesbian/bisexual/queer women, trans women, disabled women, sex workers, and any other women who may find it difficult to navigate traditional feminist/survivor spaces. If you are a part of any of these groups or have any specific requests, please feel free to put this in your email. We’ll also have a waiting list for future workshops.
If you’re interested in coming to this workshop or a future session, or if you’d just like some more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
